Seeda Press, a publishing platform for Black feminists engaged in transdisciplinary practice, takes it's name from the computer science concept, "database seeding". Learn Entity Framework Core defines seed data as, "data that you populate the database with at the time it is created. You use seeding to provide initial values for lookup lists, for demo purposes, proof of concepts etc." This project explores the ways in which Black feminist worldbuilding and care work has provided the initial values for liberation and the new world. Additionally, Seeda Press is interested in exploring zines as “textbooks” and independent publishing as a platform for pedagocial experiments.
Seeda Press was initially seeded on Patreon.
